Grooming Technician

Full description

Position is hourly and may be part time or full time. As a Groom Tech you will:
• Provide baths and basic grooming needs that meets client’s expectations and is appropriate for pet type
• Observe dog coat condition, recommend, and execute appropriate treatments and remedies based on needs of the pet and skill level of the Groom Tech
• Manage each client’s appointment details
• Sanitize your station and perform additional maintenance throughout the day to ensure a high quality environment for grooming
• Complete opening and closing tasks for salon ensuring clean environment, stocked supplies and organized space.
• Follow safety procedures for pets and staff at all times

Required Skills & Experience:
• Bathing, drying & maintaining all coat types
• Nail trimming
• Ear cleaning
• Basic clipper techniques
• Equipment maintenance
• Knowledge of sanitization standards

Here’s what you need:
• At least 20 hours of weekly availability
• Exceptional time management skills and reliability

Physical Demands:
• Capable of physical movements requiring the use of legs, wrists, hands and/or fingers including kneeling and bending.
• Repetitive arm and wrist use. Frequent grasping.
• Ability to pull up to 140 lbs.
• Ability to be on your feet and/or walking up to eight (8) hours per day for at least four (4) hours at a time frequently.
• Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.
